Welcome to Beautiful Nomad

For those of you who have been following my journey, I am sorry it has taken this long to post my first post here.

For those of you new to my journey, I apologize in advance if I fail to post on a regular schedule, I'm working on it.

Beautiful Nomad is designed to be a behind the scenes ministry, providing the much needed supports to ministries so that they can grow into all that God has for them. This means that much of what I do is neither interesting nor noticeable to most people. This also means that I seldom have amazing photos to share or tales of how my activity has impacted a life or a community.

And yet, it does make a difference to the people I serve and to the communities they reach.

So, what is it that I have been doing?

In September of 2023, I felt God calling me to support a new church plant that would be starting in 2025 in Cochrane, Alberta. There are so many aspects to a new church plant, and no matter how amazing and skilled the pastors are, there is always more work to be done than hours in the day. Additionally, it can be quite a while before the church can fully support the pastors, let alone a support staff. Thus the need for Beautiful Nomad Missions, to come under the mission of the ministry, to provide that essential support and make way for the pastors to focus on sharing the gospel and ministering to the people.

I spent the next 17 months preparing to make the leap into this new roll as full time missionary supporting this new church. In the midst of that preparation, God also opened the doors for me to spend three months in Uganda, working in an babies home, where I had the opportunity to help support newborn quadruplets.

With a few detours along the way, I arrived in Cochrane, AB on the 5th of March, 2025. Since then, I have spent my time, getting familiar with my new community, settling into my new home and putting my hand to any task the pastors have for me. Most of this is behind a computer or in serving on a Sunday wherever there is a need. As the church grows, so will my activity level, and I am thrilled to be able to bless these pastors, this community and the people with everything I have to offer. This is a faith journey for me as I am learning to lean on God on a whole new level. God has always been faithful in providing all that I need, and I am confident that He will not fail me now. Having said that, I am also human, and sometimes the balance in my bank account or the length of my wish list can unsettle me.

So how can you help?

Prayer! First and foremost I need God every day. I can't do this on my own, and I am keenly aware of how much I need God to keep taking the next step forward in this journey. There is a passage in Psalm 119: 147 TPT that says "Before the day dawns, I'll be crying out for help and wrapping your words into my life." This passage is my hearts cry these days as I wake daily before the sunrise and lay my concerns before God. And daily I am comforted by His word.

Another way you can help is in encouragement. Sometimes, even when we are surrounded by people, it can be challenging to find the encouragement we need to keep moving forward. While I seldom say so, I often need encouragement to remind me that I am right where I am meant to be. Feel free to email me anytime or send a message on Instagram or messenger.

The third way you may consider helping is through finances. While Beautiful Nomad is still going through the process of becoming a registered charity, there are still many expenses in doing what I do. Your assistance will enable me to keep my focus on the ministries I support.
